Pursuant to the instructions of UGC , Higher Education Department , Govt. of West Bengal and the University of Calcutta, for assessment and accreditation of the College by NAAC, an Internal Quality Assurance Cell ( IQAC) was established on 05/01/2019 upon resolution adopted by the Governing Body of the Al-Ameen Memorial Minority College, with the primary goal to evaluate performance, to develop and institutionalize a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalectic action in matters related to the overall betterment of the college.
Hence the IQAC shall function as a quality sustenance measure.
The primary aims of IQAC as defined by NAAC are
v To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalectic improvement in the overall performance of the institution including its holistic academic excellence.
v To promote in a continuous process the internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement initiatives.
In order to materialize these aims, the IQAC contributes to the
v Development and application of quality benchmarks / various standards / parameters for the manifold academic and administrative activities of the college.
v Arrangement of feedback responses from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders on quality related issues.
v Appreciation of good aspects and suggesting remedial measures for the weak ones.
v Monitoring for regular submission of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.
v Documentation of the various programmes and activities of the college, leading to quality enhancement.
v Performing the function of a nodal agency with the various bodies like UGC, the Govt., the NAAC and the SRAs as well as for coordinating quality related activities including adoption and dissemination of good practices.
Being a religious minority (Muslim minority) college, it has adopted policies and programmes for preservation and promotion of cultures related to such minorities and also to impart value based education. Traditional and professional courses have also been introduced simultaneously to better equip the students for their successful future and employment.
A transparent admission process is maintained. Due care is taken to provide different scholarships and stipends for minorities, SC/ ST / OBC and girl students.
The college has a Grievance Redressal Cell, Anti – Ragging Cell and Career Counseling Cell.
The IQAC and the Governing Body function as complementary to each other to facilitate quality enhancement and sustenance.
